The Watch D.O.G.S program is a program provides positive male role models for students by having males in the school and showing the students that education is important. It also provides an extra set of eyes in the building for safety purposes.
What does "D.O.G.S" stand for? Dads Of Great Students. However, it's not limited to just dads; uncles, grandfathers, neighbors, and male community members that want to volunteer their time can come in and participate in the program.
If you decide you want to volunteer, you can expect a full day of helping students in all grade levels. Our Watch D.O.G.S do activities ranging from reading to students, practicing math facts and spelling words, playing with students at recess, and visiting with students during lunchtime. Students love having the Watch DOGS come in their classrooms and help them with different activities, and students who have dads, uncles, etc come into the school to volunteer, get to have their name announced in the morning and have their picture taken together to have hung on the "Wall of Fame".
