The Giving Project was a HUGE success.

The 2019 “Gifted Garments” Giving Project held by Ms. Parsons’ Sixth Grade Class from December 3rd to the 19th was again a huge success this year. The sixth grade students were collecting new undergarments (socks and underwear of all sizes) for the organization known as City Union Mission. City Union Mission has been in operation since 1924 and they service thousands of poverty-stricken and homeless men, women and children throughout Kansas City and the Northland each year. City Union Mission provides nutritious meals, warm shelters and basic necessities for those in need. Ms. Parsons’ class decided this year to collect socks and underwear for City Union Mission in hopes of having 1000 pairs of socks and underwear donated by the end of the drive. Again, the West Platte School District went above and beyond; at the end of the project on December 19th the students had collected 1566 pairs of socks and underwear. Ms. Parsons, her sixth grade students and the wonderful directors at City Union Mission cannot thank our amazing community enough for all the love and support you give to those who need us most. Your kind and generous hearts are so appreciated. May you have a very Happy New Year!!!
