WASHINGTON-SPRING STREET UPDATE FOR:
Tuesday, January 10, 2017
WASHINGTON STREET – Contractor is backfilling sidewalks and preparing to pour concrete in a few areas that are left.
THE CONTRACTOR HAS CHANGED THE SIGNS TO SAY “ROAD WORK AHEAD – USE CAUTION”. EVEN WITH LIGHT ACTIVITY EVERYONE MUST BE CAUTIOUS WHEN DRIVING THROUGH. THERE IS STILL CONSTRUCTION WORKERS AND EQUIPMENT ON THE ROAD.
WE ADVISE THAT YOU STILL UTILIZE THE INTERSECTION OF GAY AND BLUEJAY DRIVE FOR ACCESS TO THE HIGH SCHOOL PARKING LOT. DRIVE SLOWLY AS THE PAVEMENT IS UNEVEN IN THE INTERSECTION. TAKE 5TH STREET TO BLACKHAWK TO GAY TO BLUEJAY DRIVE.
SPRING STREET – Contractor is pouring concrete at driveways and sidewalks. Use caution and be patient if driving through Spring Street.
There will still be a two-inch drop from existing pavement to the new asphalt until the weather allows the top layer to be put on the street. Continue to use caution, drive slowly when you make the transition between pavements.
Please obey all temporary and permanent NO PARKING signs.
If for some reason you decide to drive on Washington or Spring, please use patience as it is a construction zone. Do NOT pass moving construction equipment. Make eye contact with operators of equipment so they know you are there.
If you are on Spring Street there is now an open pass through at Edward Street. This route should only be used if absolutely necessary, and going down the hill. Coming up Thomas to Edward you may need a four-wheel drive vehicle.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
