The Blue Jays watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 15-5 loss to Lawson on Thursday.
Lawson took an early lead in the first inning. Noah Johnson walked in a run with the bases loaded to drive in a run. The Jays scored four runs in the fifth inning. Their big inning was driven by a single by Eagen, a single by Basel, a stolen base, and a stolen base. Lawson scored 11 runs in the second inning. Lawson's big inning was driven by walks.
Eagen and Basel each drove in one run to lead the Jays. The Blue Jays tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Alec Carson led the way with three.
