West Platte School District promotes an environment which leverages technology to provide a superior education system and prepares its students to succeed in a global society. Our goals are to empower students to be successful citizens by using technology to:

  • Develop competent, responsible, respectful digital citizens
  • Demonstrate creative and critical thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes
  • Communicate and collaborate with peers, experts and others on a global basis
  • Develop cultural understanding and global awareness
  • Gather, evaluate and use information to solve problems and make informed decisions
  • Understand human, cultural and societal issues related to technology
  • Demonstrate an understanding of technological concepts, systems and operations

The district provides each and every student  with a mobile device to equip students for anytime-anywhere learning. Every classroom has a SmartBoard or interactive projector. Also available for classroom use are document, digital, and video cameras.  West Platte also has two computer labs available for staff and student use.

Our teachers receive continued professional development through the eMINTS program to further empower technology use in the classroom.

Our Technology Services:

Parents are able to check grades, assignment progress, discipline, lunch balances, and health services.  Students use the PowerSchool to check their assignments, grades, select classes, and view library checkouts.  Both parents and students can email a classroom teacher from the Portal.

RevTrak is a service that gives parents the ability to pay student lunch balances online. To access RevTrak parents will need student and parent login information from PowerSchool.  This login info can be requested from the school offices.

Google Apps for Education

Teachers and students utilize Google Apps for their email, scheduling appointments, homework and assignments, and as a document management tool.

Teachers maintain informational sites for parents and students about what they are doing in the classroom through their class websites.

Mobile App

The West Platte School District app provides personalized news feeds, calendar events, students' grades & assignments, staff directory, sports scores, tip line and more.  To get the app, go to your mobile device store and search "West Platte School District".
